Baker does not have to register on a sex offender list because of the nature of the crime and he will do no jail time. I was told by the DA's office that an Investigator would reach out to them.

After countless meetings, emails and phone calls with the Assistant District Attorneys from the DA's office that handle cases like this, they have come to decision. They have offered Baker Deferred Adjudication with 5 years probation.

After the 5 year period of probation his charges will be Dismissed. I respectfully told them I will never agree that is an acceptable resolution, but in our criminal justice system it has become clear that victims do not have a say. I told them that the outcome of this case extended way past me into the community.

The outcome of this case will be sending a message to the public and it needs to be a positive and just one. I had a meeting with Ms.

It was rushed and did not go well. I attempted to communicate the above concerns I have during our meeting regarding the need for a Conviction vs. She interrupted me repeatedly during our conversation, and pounded her fist several times on her desk as she spoke to me. She told me I offended her because I did not agree that Deferred Adjudication was a suitable resolution for Baker's Felony Crime, nor was I satisfied with the message it would send to the public.

Moore quickly ended the meeting in what I felt was a dismissive manner saying she had another trial she needed to attend.

I was shocked that the District Attorney of Travis County would not only behave this unprofessionally during a meeting in her office with a group of Citizens, but treat a victim of a crime the way she did.

She made me feel like I was an imposition, a waste of her time and an irritation because I did not agree with her.

With all of the recent media attention her office has received regarding how they handle or don't handle cases regarding sexual misconduct, the impression could be concluded that she is not a strong supporter of protecting women, their safety or their rights.

When coordinating the meeting they were told by the DA's office that Ms. Moore would meet with anyone "except Kelly" to discuss the case. Baker's Deferred Adjudication and eventual Dismissal plea offer with 5 years probation still stands.

Baker was able to retire from the Austin Fire Department without being held accountable for his actions. Based on what I have learned, it seems that the City of Austin had some knowledge of similar issues with Baker that had occurred in the past and were not properly addressed.

As a result, it allowed him the power and opportunity to victimize me. I have tried my hardest to do everything within my power to ensure there would be a Felony Conviction for Baker's Felony Crime. I feel that outcome would hold him accountable for his actions and protect and educate the public on what he has done.

We do what we do in our job because we want to protect the community and ensure safety. Obviously my voice alone has been ineffective. No one deserves to be violated by a sexual predator.
